Within one year from the date of expiry OF YOUR residence permit YOU CAN APPLY FOR the its conversion into Residence Permit for Family reasons.

You can apply for family cohesion IF YOU ARE:

SPOUSE

UNDERAGE CHILD

DEPENDENT ADULT CHILD

IN CASE OF 100% DISABILITY

PARENT

  • IF you are a dependent parent and you don’t have other children in your country of origin;
  • IF you are a parent and you have adult children with severe and documented disabilities in your country of origin;
If you are a parent aged over 65, you are OBLIGED to register in the National Health Service or to take out a private health insurance

What to do:

  • Send a postal kit for each person aged over 14. The shipping cost is euro 30. Go to Italian Post Office. POSTE ITALIANE.
  • Make a transfer on postal current account:
    • You will pay euro 70.46 for the electronic residence permit (PSE and for permits whose duration does not exceed 1 year) or euro 80.46 (for permits whose duration does not exceed 2 years).
    • For each child aged under 14 you MUST PAY an amount of euro 30.46.
  • WHEN YOU RECEIVE THE CONVOCATION LETTER FROM THE POLICE HEADQUARTERS, children aged under 14 must go with you to collect their residence permit.
Please note that such criteria are updated on a yearly basis!

To apply for family cohesion, if you are a dependent family member the INCOME requirements to be met in 2019 are:

  •  +  1 FAMILY MEMBER TO REJOIN 8.931 euro
  •  +   2 FAMILY MEMBERS TO REJOIN   11.908 euro
  •  +   + 2 or more children aged under 14 TO REJOIN    11.908 euro
  •  +   + 3 FAMILY MEMBERS TO REJOIN 14.885 euro (e.g. 3 family members aged over 14 or 2 children aged under 14 + 1 family member aged over 14)
  •  +     + 4 FAMILY MEMBERS TO REUNITE 17.862 euro
  • + For each extra family member pay euro 2,977 additionally

Cohabiting family members may integrate their income.

Go to the local municipal offices to obtain a certificate of SUITABILITY OF ACCOMODATION.

REQUIREMENTS, COSTS and DOCUMENTS vary according to your Municipality of residence.
